Hi I'm Joe kept birds for over 50 years, British, and Rollers, but coming late to the Irish fancy, absolutley lovely little birds, first see these little gems was at the last NEC national, lived in London for the first 22 years on my life before moving to Hertfordshire and getting married and having a family of our own retired from full time work 2 years ago,was a postman( but better than walking the streets,ha,ha,ha,) was never very lucky breeding the British,not bad with the rollers,and mules,this was purely for my own pleasure never contested the birds,but better late than never, so I'm going to try with the Irish fancies. Brought myself 5 pairs from good stock, from a chap recommended by a judge and breeder over here, so lets see how it goes.

Hello my name is Paul O'Kane i have been keeping breeding and showing the Irish Fancy Canary since 1986 i am also a panel judge for the breed i live in Derry City in Northern Ireland a City with a great history in bird keeping i am a the sectreary of the CITY OF DERRY CAGE BIRD SOCIETY and the IRISH FANCY CANARY CLUB OF ULSTER . The Irish Fancy Canary has been a passion of mine for the past twenty years in breeding ,exhibiting and promoting this beautiful little canary i hope by my site i can encourage other fanciers to get involved with the Irish Fancy. |

im 28 yrs old this is my 1st year in breading irish fancys i started with 2 hens and 1 cock at this moment i 3 chicks from each hen left the nests.and 1 of the hen is now sitting 6 eggs.i got my birds from a old breeder with a very close flock.and would like 2 get fresh blood for the next breeding year.would welcome any tips or knowledge. |
